GNFS launches permit and certification system to enhance service delivery

Interior Minister Henry Quartey has launched the Ghana National Fire Service's (GNFS) new "Automated Fire Permit and Certification Management System" to simplify the process for obtaining fire safety permits and certifications.

This online system aims to reduce processing times, enhance efficiency, and improve compliance with fire safety regulations.

The initiative is expected to cut permit turnaround times from 15 to five days, benefiting businesses and individuals.

Quartey emphasized the importance of this innovation for fire safety and praised ongoing efforts to modernize services.

The system, supported by the World Bank, aims to boost compliance and strengthen fire prevention across Ghana.
