Ningo Prampram MP Sam Nartey George has accused the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) of being the "biggest single purveyor of corruption in the public service" for failing to retrieve taxes in the Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) deal.
The KPMG report, released by President Akufo-Addo on May 22, revealed SML owes the GRA GH¢31.88 million in unpaid taxes, including GH¢18.50 million in interest.
SaM George criticized the GRA for not withholding taxes from payments to SML, suggesting GRA officials are under duress due to SML's influence.
He likened this situation to a police officer involved in armed robbery, questioning who would hold them accountable.
