GRIDCo apologises for power cuts, blames it on major system disturbance

The Ghana Grid Company LTD (GRIDCo) has informed the public that the recent power outages in Accra and other regions are due to a significant disturbance in their system.

The issue arose on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 2:41 pm, when a fault occurred on the Accra Central – Achimota Line, causing other lines in Aboadze, Kumasi, and Tema to trip.

GRIDCo's Manager of Corporate Communications, Dzifa Bampoh, assured that efforts are being made to restore power to all affected areas and apologized for the inconvenience caused to consumers.
