The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has ordered all colleges of education to stay open despite a two-month strike by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG).
GTEC clarified that no decision has been made to close the colleges, and efforts are ongoing to resolve the teachers' concerns.
The commission is also working on recruiting 2,500 teaching staff to support academic activities and is addressing outstanding payments.
GTEC will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
