The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has defended its directive to freeze July salaries of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) members due to their ongoing strike since June 14.
CETAG members, striking over unimplemented service conditions, warned against the freeze and vowed to continue.
GTEC’s Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai explained that salary payment requires workplace presence validation.
He urged CETAG to end the strike, promising all staff would be migrated to their affiliate universities' service schemes to resolve any discrimination issues.
