Galamsey: Applaud Organised Labour for suspending strike – TUC Chairman

Organized Labour has defended its decision to call off a nationwide strike planned for October 10, which aimed to pressure the government to take stronger action against illegal mining (galamsey).

The suspension, announced on October 9, sparked criticism, with some accusing the leadership of yielding to external pressure.

However, Bernard Owusu, Chairman of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), clarified that the decision was a strategic move, noting that the government had addressed some of their concerns.

He assured that if further action is not taken, the strike or other protests could resume.
