The Birim River at Anyinam has become polluted again just four days after the government's Operation Halt team cleared illegal miners from the area.

Over 100 military personnel were deployed to tackle illegal mining activities, which have severely affected the river's water quality.

On October 10, the team seized and burned three changfan machines. Despite these efforts, the river remains brown and polluted, indicating ongoing challenges.

The operation also included destroying additional illegal equipment on the Pra River, as part of a broader effort to combat galamsey activities in Ghana.
