Galamsey: Organised Labour’s nationwide strike a “worthy disruption” – Austin Gamey

Labour analyst Austin Gamey has praised Organised Labour for advocating on behalf of the voiceless amid their announcement of a nationwide strike starting October 10, 2024.

This decision follows the government's failure to address concerns regarding illegal mining, known as galamsey, after a deadline was set for action by the end of September.

Joshua Ansah, Secretary General of the TUC, confirmed the strike will proceed due to the government's inaction.

Gamey acknowledged that while the strike will disrupt normalcy, it is a necessary measure to support those affected by illegal mining activities.
