Galamsey: UTAG votes to decide whether or not to endorse October 10 strike

Members of the University Teachers Association (UTAG) are currently voting on their campuses to decide whether to endorse a strike, in accordance with the association's constitution.

At the University for Development Studies (UDS), 311 members voted, with 86.5% in favor of the strike.

UTAG President Prof. Mamudu Akurugu expressed confidence that a majority of members will support the industrial action as voting continues across other campuses, set to conclude by October 8.

Meanwhile, Organized Labour plans to strike on October 10 unless their demands—including a state of emergency for water bodies and a temporary ban on small-scale mining—are met.
