Ghana Beyond Aaid achievable through hard work - Reverend

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

The Ghana beyond aid vision could be attained, if the citizenry works diligently towards attaining that goal.

"There is the need to work hard towards achieving Ghana beyond aid, in order to make it successful."

Professor(Rev) Spencer Duncan, said this when he delivered a sermon at a thanksgiving service which was held in Accra on Friday, to mark the Civil Service Week.

He said civil servants represented the arm of the government and added, that this made them crucial elements when it came to the successful implementation of government policies.

Rev. Duncan said considering the key position that civil servants occupied in the country, it was important for them to take initiatives towards supporting the developmental programs of the government.

"If you want resources to come to your ministry, let your vision be clear. If you work and you are concerned, you take initiative without being told," he said.

Rev. Duncan urged people in positions of leadership to be selfless and strive to be representatives of the people whose concerns they were supposed to address.

He said what was needed for the country's growth was selfless leadership that did not seek self-gratification, but one which was only concerned about the well-being of the people they represented.

The Civil Service Week and Awards Night is being celebrated under the theme, "Improving Service Delivery to promote Ghana Beyond Aid."
