The Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association is organizing a demonstration on July 10 to protest the 5% excise tax on locally manufactured plastic products.
The march will start from Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, pass through Accra Technical University, and end at the Ministry of Finance.
The Association had threatened to shut down production in June if their concerns were not addressed. Despite sending a letter in April, they have yet to receive a response from the Ministry, prompting this protest.
The demonstration is a last resort to express their dissatisfaction with the tax.
