Ghana does not have a national dream – Apostle Piesie Okyere Darko

Apostle Piesie Okyere Darko made this known during the official launch of the Awake Africa Ghana Mission on Saturday, May 26, at the Riches of Glory Chapel in Adenta.

According to him, the absence of the Ghanaian dream has resulted in the inability of a government to implement its policies. This, he blamed on the desire by a political party to implement its projects, without considering a national policy which he believes will be of relevance to Ghanaians.

Apostle Darko claimed that when there a new government takes over, it overhauls the uncompleted projects of the erstwhile government.

“This government comes to implement this project; the other government comes, terminates it and begins to erect their own projects. And that is what you and I are facing, which we know. There is not a common vision where we are all going. You and I know that a government comes into power, three months they say 100 days in office, they say 80%, 90%”, he argued.

He insisted that as a nation; “we don’t have policies. We don’t have standards that define us. If you go to America, they have their standards, they have their policies”, adding that the revival of the ‘dead Ghanaian dream’ will help to identify and develop policies to guarantee the progress of this country.



The Awake Africa Ghana Mission is a non-political, non-governmental group that was established to revive and renew the spirit of Pan-Africanism across the continent and the diaspora.

The movement has been the brainchild of Apostle Piesie Okyere Darko since 2002, while in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
