Ghana faces oil depletion in 15 years if production decline persists – Steve Manteaw

Dr. Steve Manteaw, co-chair of the Ghana Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative, warned that Ghana's oil production is declining as fields peak.

On Joy News’ PM Express, Manteaw noted that Jubilee Fields are half depleted, TEN is a third, and Sankofa Gye Nyame a tenth. He stressed the urgency of adding reserves to avoid a collapse of the oil industry in 10-15 years.

A PIAC report indicated a four-year consecutive decline in crude oil production. Despite GNPC’s efforts, investor interest remains low due to block sizes and data quality issues.
