Ghana has lost ground in economic transformation – Dr Kingsley Amoako

Dr. Kingsley Y. Amoako, founder of the African Center for Economic Transformation, stated that Ghana has lost its momentum in economic transformation during the Ghana Compact Citizens Convention at the University of Ghana.

The convention aimed to finalize a 'Social Contract'—a vision for Ghana’s political and economic future until 2050. This contract outlines responsibilities and commitments of both leaders and citizens to achieve collective goals.

Despite some growth, Dr. Amoako noted Ghana’s economy remains vulnerable and hasn't significantly improved livelihoods.

The Trade Union Congress's Yaw Baah emphasized the compact's role in holding leaders accountable, while the National Development Planning Commission's Kodjo Mensah Abrampah announced plans to restructure for better citizen feedback.
