President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that Ghana has planted 42 million trees over the past three years as part of efforts to combat deforestation and promote sustainability.
Speaking at the Green Ghana Day ceremony, he credited this success to the collective efforts of the Ghanaian people and highlighted the goal to plant an additional 10 million trees, bringing the total to 52 million in four years.
He praised the Lands and Minerals Resources Minister, Samuel Jinapor, for leading the initiative and expressed confidence in surpassing this year’s target.
The Green Ghana Day event aims to restore forest cover, combat climate change, and enhance the natural environment.
