Lord Paul Boateng, a UK House of Lords member, has urged Ghana to end its reliance on foreign aid, stating it hinders growth and perpetuates poverty.
Speaking at the 2024 UPSA Annual Leadership Lecture on June 18, he blamed powerful nations and their collaborators for exploiting Africa's resources, keeping the continent impoverished.
He criticized Ghanaians for valuing a Dutch passport over a Ghanaian PhD, emphasizing the need for better leadership and policies.
Boateng called for improved governance, equitable access to quality education, and youth empowerment to foster capable future leaders, urging students to take on leadership roles to shape Ghana's future.
