Ghana signs agreement with UNOCT to prevent terrorism

Ghana has partnered with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) to enhance efforts against terrorism and transnational organized crime.

Through a signed Letter of Agreement (LoA) at a ceremony in Budapest, Hungary, Ghana will receive technical assistance under the UN Countering Terrorist Travel Programme.

This initiative focuses on strengthening national capabilities to detect and mitigate threats associated with terrorist travel using Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Records (PNR).

The agreement underscores Ghana's commitment to implementing UN Security Council resolutions and highlights UNOCT's global efforts to support Member States in combating terrorism and serious crimes through data-driven strategies.
