Kofi Adams, MP for Buem Constituency, disputes the government's claim that COVID-19 and the Russian-Ukrainian war caused Ghana's economic crisis.
He argued that the economy was already struggling before the pandemic, which only exposed the existing issues.
The Auditor General's report supported this claim, showing that the economy was in a bad state before COVID-19.
Adams believed the government's mismanagement of resources and failure to invest in key areas are the real causes of the crisis, and that COVID-19 only provided an opportunity for the government to raise funds it couldn't otherwise access.
