New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament [MP] for Tema West constituency, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah has cautioned Ghanaians to be very mindful of the Economic Team Members they choose to manage the economy.
Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ panel discussion segment, Carlos Ahenkorah indicated that the crop of personalities the largest opposition party introduced as their Economic Team Members depicts how they will manage the economy should they be given the opportunity to lead this country again.
Again, he said they [NDC economic team] are of no match to the NPP's economic team, when economic brains are to be compared to seek a better development for Ghana.
“Indeed I can say on authority that Ghana will be the worst place on earth should NDC be given the chance to lead Ghana again, because they have made us aware of their next batch of economy experts . . .” he said.
Members of the NPP economic team comprises of its Chair, Vice-President Bawumia and Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo as its Vice-Chair.
Other members are; Ken Ofori-Atta, Minister for Finance; Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture; John Peter Amewu, Minister of Energy; Professor George Gyan Baffour, Minister for Planning; Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Minister of Trade and Industry and Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation with Professor Joe Amoako-Tuffour as the team's Secretary.
And on the side of the NDC as presented during their forum are; Former Deputy Minister of Energy and Petroleum, John Abdulai Jinapor; Prof, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, Former Education Minister; Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey; Former Deputy Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson and former Deputy Minister of Finance, Mona Quartey.
However, Member of Parliament [MP] for Lower Manya Constituency in the Eastern Region, Ebenezer Okletey Tei-Larbi, on the same platform rubbished his comments and said “Those members are not the finance and economic team members of the NDC, rather they just chaired the state of the economy meeting organized by a pressure group of the party and as well to respond to some issues raised by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana during the government’s Maiden Town Hall Meeting”.
