Daryl Bossu, Deputy National Director of A Rocha Ghana, a non-profit environmental conservation organization, has stated that it will take several years to restore Ghana's polluted water bodies to their natural state.
In an Adom News interview, he cited factors like chemical pollution and soil degradation as key issues.
Bossu’s research indicated that a minimum of five years is needed for water restoration.
He stressed on the importance of proactive measures to prevent further pollution, highlighting the impact of contaminants like heavy metals and mercury from mineral extraction.
Bossu called for efforts to improve water quality and gradually rejuvenate rivers, streams, and land.
