The National Democratic Congress (NDC) plans to scrutinize and possibly halt the current government's Gold-for-Oil (G4O) program if it wins the December 7 election.
NDC’s economic spokesperson, Isaac Adongo, criticized the NPP for pledging to expand the program, despite the International Monetary Fund (IMF) advising against it.
The G4O initiative, intended to stabilize fuel prices by using gold to purchase oil, has faced accusations of mismanagement and corruption.
Former President John Mahama has vowed to investigate the program, labeling it as "opaque" and part of the NDC's manifesto promise.
