Gomoa East MCE has reported a significant decrease in water levels on the Accra-Winneba Highway, making it safe for travel.
This follows flooding that displaced over 2000 residents due to the diversion of the Ayensu River by a highway expansion contractor.
The MCE clarified that the contractor cannot be solely blamed, as the area is prone to flooding during heavy rains.
Efforts are underway, in collaboration with NADMO, to assist the affected people, with data collection ongoing for the distribution of relief items.
