Goosie Tanoh, an aspiring presidential candidate of opposition NDC who hopes to make history this month by beating six other contestants including a former president in a presidential primary kicked off his final campaign tour to the Volta Region Wednesday.
Mr. Tanoh rallied a lively crowd of delegates and supporters who attended the town hall meeting held at Adidome market centre.
Goosie tanoh, 63, a PNDC capo and a former special aide to former president Rawlings has built his campaign around restoring hope in party members, focusing on grassroots mobilization and community empowerment, support for women, youth and farmers, Job creation, Transparency, Accountability and social justice.
There was an overwhelmingly show of support and love by delegates at Adidome in the Central Tongu district of the Volta Region where Mr. Tanoh and his Organising For Ghana campaign team first made a stop over to engage voters.
The delegates especially branch executives openly endorsed the candidature of Goosie Tanoh, pledging their readiness to vote massively for Mr. Tanoh.
The Dufia of Mafi Adidome, Togbe Agyemang Kwesinyi eulogized Goosie Tanoh for his role played during the revolutionary days.
He urged delegates in the Volta Region to vote massively for Goosie Tanoh to restore sanity in the party.
VOTE WISELY
On his part, Mr. Goosie Tanoh charged the delegates to vote wisely for the one who is capable to lead the NDC into Victory come 2020 and not the candidate who will influence them with money and goodies.
He told the delegates “vote according to your choice not what somebody has instructed you”
“You may stock your room with the money you’ve been given or stock your room with bags of rice given to you by some individuals to vote for a particular candidate, but the items will not last forever”
“You will then call the person on phone and he will pretend as if he does not know you and drop the line on you. So vote wisely, vote Goosie Tanoh to bring you jobs, food security, universal affordable healthcare, social housing and policies that would improve your living condition”.
Goosie Tanoh throughout his campaign tour had encouraged party members to stand up against corruption and also ensure discipline within the party structures.
He has however had reasons to criticise the ruling New Patriotic Party over alleged corrupt practices in the administration of president NanaAkuffo Addo.
The campaign tour of Goosie Tanoh continues from central Tongu to South Tongu, Akatsi, Ketu South constituencies among others.
