Government to launch $2bn infrastructure investment in Northern, Western Regions – John Boadu

The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party has disclosed that government will launch a two-billion-dollar infrastructure investment in the Northern and Western regions to facilitate development in the regions.

“…you may have heard the NDC in their ‘chalewote’ town hall meeting challenging the government to match their infrastructure record, much as their eight years inflated infrastructure record they taut is nothing but a complete charade…”

“In fact on Wednesday, 10th of this month, government will launch the commencement of a two billion dollar investment infrastructure,” he noted.

According to Mr. Boadu, the two-million-dollar investment will include the construction of a number of roads and highways in the aforementioned regions.

“…two-thirds of which [$2bn infrastructure ivestment] will be in roads and highways, this will be the single largest infrastructure investment project by any government by any government in a year over the past five decades.”

He further revealed that this investment plan will be carried out in a way that will not run the nation at loss or in debt.

“We’re doing this by not adding to our national debts. Instead, we’re using innovative financing technics to leverage our natural resources bauxite in particular for development,” he stated.

He continued that the project will also see to the construction of the very first interchange in the five Northern Regions in the country.
