Government has pledged its support to Journalists in Ghana through the implementation of a Media capacity Enhancement programme, ABC News Ghana can report.
The move is to help boost the capacities of journalists to enable them effectively deliver on the job.
A statement signed by Information Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah in commemoration of World Press Freedom Day highlights what exactly the government seeks to achieve by setting up this programme.
The statement also adds that government is in the process of introducing a coordinating mechanism on the safety of Journalists to help protect Journalists as they go about their duties.
This year’s celebration of World Press Freedom day is taking place at Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
