Guru disqualified from University of Ghana SRC presidential race

Ghanaian rapper Guru, whose real name is Maradona Adjei Yeboah, has been disqualified from running for President of the University of Ghana's Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

The SRC Vetting Committee found that Guru, along with another candidate, did not meet the eligibility criteria because they are non-residential students, which disqualifies them from holding executive positions according to the UG SRC Constitution.

Guru had expressed a desire to address student accommodation issues and protect the university's reputation if elected.
