Ghanaian musician Guru, also known as Maradona Adjei Yeboah, has won the University of Ghana's Students’ Representative Council (SRC) presidential election.
He and his running mate, Jeffery Adu-Yeboah, secured 50.7% of the vote, with 9,455 votes out of 18,659 cast.
The election followed weeks of legal battles and disqualifications, with Guru initially barred from running due to his non-resident status.
However, the school's Appeals Board overturned the disqualification, allowing him to contest and ultimately win the SRC presidency for the 2024/25 academic year.
