Renowned businessman and philanthropist, HRH Oscar Yao Doe is dedicating a week to the celebration of the legacies of former president, John Agyekum Kuffour, whose tenure, he said, marked the turning point for business growth in Ghana.
He specifically pointed out how the Kuffour-led government revolutionalised the banking sector, thereby seeing Ghana enjoying one of the most prosperous moments in history.
The chairman of Doscar Group Holdings started his eulogy of Mr. Kuffour via his public posts, Monday. He has revealed how he wanted to gift the former president a Mercedes-Benz Maybach for his leadership excellence in 2010, but was unable to do so due to visible circumstances.

Breaking News: Sharing History Scorecard With Upcoming Generations:
President J.J Rawlings is credited for cementing democracy in Ghana from 1992-2000. Extremely intelligent leader (pardon me for using the American style where they do not refer to past presidents as former president).
President John Agyekum Kuffour is credited for creating the golden age of business and property-owning democracy, from 2001-2008. The era that will be remembered as very unique moment, and the turning point for business growth in Ghana.
He opened up the banking and financial sector space to thrive to a level never seen before. And as a result of that policy, Ghana recorded one of the most prosperous moments in our history.
(Years) 2001-2008 also saw many Ghanaian-owned banks and foreign banks, especially banks from Nigeria opening and growing. Banks were chasing businesses and individuals with loans. Ghana began to create many dollar multi-millionaires, people started opening up to show off their success to inspire others. The public sector also experienced massive transformation.
President J.A Kuffour will go down in history, without any doubt, as the game changer leader with a wider scope of vision, and a decisive leadership. The Kuffour era is still being talked about within business circles in Ghana (till today).
We celebrate you, your Excellency, J.A. Kuffour. I, his royal highness, the most-colorfully-decorated Oscar Yao doe have dedicated this whole week to celebrate your vision and leadership, which made huge difference in Ghana’s economic fortune.
In 2010, I wanted to gift president Kuffour a Mercedes-Benzes maybach for his leadership (acumen) during his tenure through his son, Chief Kuffour of African regent hotel. But unfortunately, Chief Kuffour and I realized the atmosphere at that time was not right. Because I was even (just) enduring a lengthy EOCO investigation then, from 2010-2012. My only crime for the investigation was that news went into the corridors of powers that I supported Prez Akuffo-Addo's campaign financially in 2007/2008.
I feel soo blessed for my good thoughts to honour your Excellency, President J.A Kuffour. Your place in the history books has already been cemented. I say ayekoo! The business community in Ghana says ayekoo!
