The Coalition of Hygiene Students Ghana has petitioned the Ministry of Health to address issues affecting interns and National Service personnel, particularly those from the Tamale School of Hygiene.

The students are urging the ministry to correct omissions from its financial clearance list, which they say excluded eligible trainees.

They also raised concerns over rejected forms and delayed allowance payments from 2021-2022. The students are demanding equal recognition and compensation for environmental health trainees and calling for improvements in infrastructure and fees at the country’s three schools of hygiene.

They emphasize the importance of their profession alongside others in the health sector.
