Former Minister for Youth and Sports and MP for Odododiodoo, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has submitted categorically that he also planted recording devices in his office during his stewardship as a Minister.

The very hard and outspoken MP who is touted as one of the tough ministers to have manned the Sports Ministry had misunderstandings with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in relation to their budget.

Speaking on the Atinka TV’s court Wednesday as a guest, Nii Lante Vanderpuye revealed that the Ministry for Youth and Sports as well as the Ghana Football Association is full of “Mafias” as it’s been said over the years, hence his decision to install such device to know what comes in and goes out.

According to him, the aforementioned institutions including the other agencies under the ministry have been structured and designed in a way to plunge ministers into troubles if you do not tow their way.

And that it is in such cases that Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak and Hon. Rashid Pelpuo were implicated and probably removed. In 15 years, about fourteen Ministers have managed the ministry.

He mentioned that there are corrupt dealings that go on at these institutions. For instance, he said under no circumstance that the national team would play friendly matches and monies would not be gotten out of it. Most of these matches are arranged by agents and there is always a fee.

Asked whether he had problems with Kwasi Nyantakyi and that he is also part of the problem between Nyantakyi and George Afriyie, he denied such allegations.

He also revealed that he would soon come out with some documents on some corrupt dealings involving some officials. And that his perception per the Dzamefe Commission, Kwasi Nyantakyi and his cohorts embezzled the tax payer’s money.
