Business magnate, Dr Daniel McKorley (McDan) has stated that his background has taught him not to complain but rather to face the world head-on with the belief that his tomorrow could be tougher than his yesterday.
In an interview with Joy News monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group of Companies also said that to be successful, one must have the instincts to survive no matter the situation.
“You must have the instinct to survive no matter what it takes…I have learnt not to complain. Till now I don’t complain. I am never petty. Who do you complain to? So my past has really built me up with this kind of tenacity,” he told Nhyra Addo on the Executive Lounge show.
He further revealed that his entrepreneurial mindset and tough mentality have been shaped by his humble background.
“I don’t wake up today expecting my tomorrow to be better than my yesterday. I always wake up to have this belief that my tomorrow is going to be tough; so I face the world with that kind of mindset. [But] if it happens to be good, I say hallelujah to God. So this is what my background has taught me. I don’t have to expect any free lunch,” he revealed.
Daniel McKorley, best known for his McDan Shipping Company Limited, has played and continues to play a pivotal role in unearthing the entrepreneurial talents of Ghanaians, especially the young, mainly Tlthrough his McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The gifted entrepreneur also undertakes a lot of philanthropic acts through the McDan Foundation. He is a frequent guest speaker on entrepreneurship and business programmes.
