Immediate past General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, has disclosed how he is helping Ghanaians, by agreeing to serve on some boards under the current NPP government.
The move according to the cleric is one that gives him the opportunity to offer advice to the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Taking his turn on '21 minutes with KKB', Rev. Opuni-Frimpong said he had taken the decision to help Ghana by serving on the advisory board of the Ministry of Finance.
"We're all Ghanaians and at any point in time we may be invited to help and so, yes, I serve on one or two government boards that provide some advice to the President and then some ministers of state," he told host Kwabena Kyenkyenhene Boateng.
The move, noble as it may seem, may not necessarily go down well with all Ghanaians.
His critics for instance have accused him of failing to point out the ills of the current government due to his affiliation with the New Patriotic Party.
But Rev. Opuni-Frimpong was quick to suggest that himself and the Christian Council remain as objective as ever and criticize as governments as and when need be.
He dismissed the reports of bias by citing roles he performed under the previous NDC government as proof of his patriotism.
"I was on some state boards even under NDC...President Mahama gave me [an] appointment. They appointed me [onto] the Ghana Prisons Council. Under the NDC, I served on some state boards that directly advised the President," he said.
The Christian Council of Ghana is a powerful umbrella group that unites more than 3o churches in Ghana. The council has its members from Charismatic, Pentecostal, Orthodox and other churches. Its members were known to be very critical of the outgone NDC government on a number of issues but have been accused of staying silent since the assumption of office of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP government on January 7, 2017.
