Despite efforts to set the record straight by officials of the former government on the Dome Kwabenya Community Day Senior High School, spokesperson for Sarah Adwoa Safo, Member of Parliament for the area, Isaac Nana Nkrumah insists the land on which the school stands was secured by his boss.

It will be recalled that the MP in a video that went viral claimed she lobbied the World Bank to undertake the project, a position the World Bank has denied.

The former Municipal Chief Executive for the Ga East Municipal Assembly, Kwao Sackey, had earlier told Gold News the said land was not secured by the MP.

He reiterated the NDC’s stance that the project was a government initiative which was facilitated by the assembly with support from the World Bank.

He also rubbished a letter circulating on social media indicating the MP wrote a letter to the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission to acquire the land for the project.

“Adwoa Safo claim that she had written to GAEC; if you look at Atomic Energy responds you can see that Atomic Energy is not replying Adwoa Safo but rather they were copying her as a Member of Parliament. They (GAEC) wrote to the Municipal Chief Executive. That is why they used ‘dear sir’,” he noted.

Mr. Kwao Sackey called on the Procurement Minister to retract and apologize for peddling what he described as falsehood to her constituents.

But speaking to Samuel Eshun on the Gold Power Drive Monday, spokesperson for Adwoa Safo, Isaac Nana Nkrumah, insists the land was secured and paid for by the MP.

“Our Member of Parliament went to see the Director General of the GAEC and then she wrote a letter to that effect and the man replied. They had a committee meeting and they accepted it and agreed. They told her (Adwoa Safo) if only she can find a site plan and then present it where the land is situated then, they will be able to grant the land for the project to be executed.”

“So she went and looked for a surveyor, paid for it and when she had paid she put all the documentation together,” he maintained.

Meanwhile the NDC constituency vice chairman for Dome Kwabenya, Isaac Lamptey, is certain all that have been said by the MP are palpable lies.
