I still don’t know why I was detained – Naa Koryoo

Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu Senya East, has expressed confusion over her recent detention by the Ghana Police Service.

Detained overnight on June 7, her arrest sparked outrage among NDC supporters. The police have forwarded the case to the Attorney-General for review, citing a firearms transfer offense.

Despite this, Okunor claims she has not been officially informed of the reason for her arrest.

She suspects a discrepancy in the spelling of her name on firearm license documents might be the cause, but insists this error was the fault of a police officer.
