Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has said he believed a hung parliament like Ghana's current 8th parliament, where no party has a clear majority, can strengthen the country's parliamentary democracy.
He considered this setup a blessing, encouraging thoughtful reasoning and consensus-building, rather than majority-driven decision-making.
Bagbin acknowledged the challenges but notes that parliament has adapted and is now better equipped to handle the situation.
He emphasized his commitment to ensuring parliament remains an independent arm of government, rather than a mere agent of the executive.
