Jacob Kabori Tetteh Ageke, President of the National Inland Canoe Fishermen Council, has warned that illegal mining is threatening the inland fisheries sector, particularly along the Black Volta in the Savannah region.

He reported that miners are forcibly displacing local fishermen, leading to a decline in fish stocks and damaging aquatic ecosystems.
