The National Peace Council has urged an end to hate speech in political discussions ahead of the December 7 elections.
During a meeting with leaders of alternative political parties, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, Chairman of the Council’s Code of Conduct Committee, warned that inflammatory language threatens Ghana’s peace and security.
He emphasized that such rhetoric, often heard on radio and TV, encourages young people to adopt violent speech.
The Council called for a healthier political atmosphere, stressing that continued hostility could have damaging effects on the nation.
