Influence peddling fuels corruption – Domelevo

Former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo has criticized the pervasive influence peddling in Ghana, highlighting its role in fueling corruption.

Speaking on JoyNews' The Pulse, Domelevo expressed concern over how those in power abuse their authority, leading to unethical practices and resource misappropriation.

He recounted instances where influential figures, including chiefs and elders, intervene to protect individuals from accountability, which erodes public trust and hinders anti-corruption efforts.

Domelevo urged Parliament to enact laws to prevent conflicts of interest, emphasizing the need for stronger transparency and accountability measures in government.
