Ghana’s much-praised Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah turns 38 today, and social media is already inundated with messages wishing him well on this special occasion of his.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah is one of the young shining stars in the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He is widely held in high regard even from some political opponents for his eloquence and commitment to duty.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah, who is the Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi in the Eastern Region, was appointed Deputy Information Minister in 2017 when the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) assumed the reins of power and subsequently appointed Minister of Information in a reshuffle in 2018.
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Oppong Nkrumah has been generally acknowledged for his competence in handling and disseminating information on this global challenge.
Brief Biography
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah was born on 5th April 1982 in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
He holds several degrees notably a BA in Commerce from the University of Cape Coast and an LLB from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration(GIMPA) Law Faculty.
A practising lawyer, Mr Oppong Nkrumah won the Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency seat under the ticket of the NPP in 2016.
He also serves as Cabinet Spokesperson on the Economy.
He is married with a son and daughter.
