Institute of Local Government Studies to become a University by November 2024

The Institute of Local Government Studies in Accra is set to become a full university by November 2024.

Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the Minister for Local Government, visited the campus to review progress on key projects, including a five-storey lecture block, 560 executive hostel rooms, and a new entrance.

Established in 2003, the Institute is being upgraded with government funding and oversight. A bill for the upgrade will soon be presented to Parliament, and all necessary funds are secured.

This expansion aims to strengthen local government capacity and enhance human resource development in Ghana.
