Interior Minister Henry Quartey made an unannounced visit to Kotoka International Airport on May 30, urging Ghana Immigration Service, Airport Security, and Port Health officials to uphold Ghana's prestige and professionalism.
He cautioned against carrying travelers' bags, idling, and extorting money.
Emphasizing the airport's role as Ghana's face, Quartey stressed adherence to international standards and professionalism to avoid negative repercussions.
This visit followed complaints about misconduct and a prior engagement with immigration officials.
Deputy Comptroller of Immigration Laud Afrifa thanked Quartey and assured improvements. The Minister was accompanied by senior officials including Mrs. Doreen Annan and Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare.
