Former Deputy Attorney General and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga East constituency, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine has described the Bolgatanga Central constituency Member of Parliament, Isaac Adongo as one who is phenomenal and feared by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In the view of the revered lawyer and legislator, the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central constituency should not have been contested in the recent primaries.
“Isaac is phenomenal. I even told someone who wanted to contest him that if it is Isaac you want to contest then it is better you come for my seat and leave the young man alone,” he remarked on Zuarungu based Word Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
According to him, though there have been concerns that the MP does not visit his constituency frequently, he has been breaking his back for the party in national debates and carried out some social interventions in his constituency, a virtue that has made him fearful to the governing party.
“If Isaac stands on his feet, they (NPP) shiver. They are afraid of the young man. So if you have someone who is feared by your opponents like this – why then would you want to remove him and to gain what”? He questioned.
Hon. Dominic Ayine who has also secured his candidature in the lead up to the general elections for the Bolgatanga East constituency, further commended delegates for the overwhelming victory bestowed on the outspoken Member of Parliament in Saturday’s parliamentary primaries.
Isaac Adongo polled 843 votes beating his contender George Gamson who managed to secure 226 votes.
