Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, African Union’s High Representative for Silencing the Guns, has urged Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) to work on rebuilding trust among stakeholders ahead of the 2024 elections.
He suggested the EC publish polling station results to enhance transparency.
Chambas’ remarks come amid tensions between the EC and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the 2024 voters' register.
He also called on Ghanaians, including President Akufo-Addo, to ensure peaceful elections, warning that any violence would result in accountability, unlike in 2020 when lives were lost.
