It takes deep reflection to understand my English – Wontumi

Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Benard Antwi Bosiako known in the political circles as Chairman Wontumi has given reasons why it takes time to understand him when he communicates in the English language.

Chairman Wontumi has always been a subject for ridicule when he communicates in the English Language.

Even though he is always laughed at when he expresses himself in the Queen’s language, Chairman Wontumi is never deterred from speaking the language on any platform he is given the opportunity to.

He believes the language is not Ghana’s mother tongue and therefore how he feels comfortable expressing it is how he will.

To him, he is just like the legendary Daddy Lumba and therefore it takes time for people to rub their heads around to get the meaning of what he says anytime he speaks English.

“I’m like Daddy Lumba, it takes several listening and deep reflection to understand the meaning of Daddy Lumba’s songs. People need to take time to listen to my English before they can understand what I want to put across,” he told Okay FM in Accra.
