Jachie community: Residents call for restoration of power after rainstorm wreaked havoc

The Jachie community in the Bosomtwi District of the Ashanti Region remains without electricity a week after a destructive rainstorm struck the area, resulting in injuries and one fatality.

The storm damaged the local transformer and displaced electricity poles, leaving most households in darkness. Residents and businesses are grappling with the power outage, impacting their daily lives and livelihoods.

Efforts to restore power, including appeals to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), are underway, but the timeline for restoration remains uncertain.
