Joshua Asamoah, a senior meteorologist at the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet), has warned that a disaster similar to the June 3rd, 2015 tragedy in Accra could reoccur within 50 to 100 years.

The 2015 incident involved severe rainfall and an explosion at a Goil fuel station, resulting in over 150 deaths.

Speaking to Adom News, Asamoah highlighted that such events are natural but emphasized the role of human activities in mitigating their impact.

He urged better preparedness and responsible actions to minimize future disasters. The warning coincides with the 9th anniversary of the tragic event.
