Trade and Industry Minister K.T. Hammond has criticized Dr. George Dawson-Amoah, CEO of the Chamber of Cement Manufacturers, for petitioning Parliament to reject a proposed Legislative Instrument (L.I.) intended to regulate cement prices.
The Chamber argues the L.I. undermines fairness and transparency and doesn't address the root causes of price hikes.
Hammond insists the government is committed to fair cement pricing for Ghanaians and rebuked Dawson-Amoah for his stance, emphasizing the need for regulatory sanity in the cement market.
He urged manufacturers to align with efforts to stabilize prices.
