Ghana's National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah, is in Washington as security threats escalate in Coastal West Africa.
On October 3, 2024, Ghana and the U.S. held a joint security dialogue, led by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell.
Both nations discussed enhancing security collaboration, focusing on preventing conflict and promoting stability in West Africa.
They also agreed to strengthen efforts to counter disinformation and address violent extremist threats.
Additionally, the U.S. pledged support to respond to drought in Ghana, where farmers have lost GH₵3.5 billion in investments, threatening food security across eight regions.
