The Concerned Citizens of the Komenda Traditional Area have relocated their protest against the lease of the Komenda Sugar Factory to an Indian firm from Komenda to Accra.
Initially planned for August 13, 2024, the demonstration will now be held on a later date.
The group opposes the lease, demanding the factory's return to processing locally-grown sugarcane rather than importing raw sugar, citing a lack of transparency and consultation in the agreement.
The move to Accra aims to ensure their concerns are heard at the highest levels of government and to strengthen their advocacy efforts.
