Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akomea has admitted that the party’s General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, who faces suspension as a result of a petition against him, has shown “good example” so far in complying with processes of the Disciplinary Committee.
The Committee on Thursday, December 3 recommended a suspension of Mr Agyepong to the National Executive Committee after cross-examinations that involved the petitioners.
Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM on Saturday, Nana Akomea said so far Mr Agyepong has sat through each hearing and subjected himself to the Committee.
The General Secretary only sought for a leave to proceed to Amenfi West Constituency ahead of the December 15 by-election, Nana Akomea indicated.
The petition against the former presidential spokesperson was filed by four unnamed party members.
They accuse Mr Agyepong of conduct that tends to be against the ultimate interest of the party reclaiming power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
